VIVINO 4.0 RATING

Traditionally the wine of nobles, farmers and monks, Burgundy has been known for centuries for its elegantly scented red wines of ethereal beauty. The red wines of Burgundy are exclusively made from Pinot Noir grown on slightly sloping vineyards in soils of limestone and clay. Warm summer sunshine ripens the grapes to near perfection while cool nights extend the growing season, leading to a wine with both freshness and finesse.

This Pinot Noir is made from a highly acclaimed producer in Nuit-Saint-Georges known for growing and making wines at the Village and Premier Cru level. All the grapes that go into this wine are grown in the Côte-d’Or, making this one stellar value. Grapes are hand harvested and 100% destemmed prior to fermentation. Vinification is done in the Burgundian tradition of open tanks for 10-15 days with regular pigeage, or punch downs. The finished wines are lightly pressed and mature in neutral barrel for 8 months.

TASTING NOTES

The wine is pleasantly fragrant with red berry and floral aromas followed by a delicate, but long finish. This wine pairs well with a light dish like cherry tomato tart with basil or grilled salmon with sweet onions and red bell peppers.
